Given what we are now seeing with the COVID-19 outbreak, we have decided to close our new and used vehicle sales operations at our Carousel Motor Group stores, as well as our jewelry business at JB Hudson, effective today at 6pm central time. We are the first major motor group in the state to take this step.
With the information we have at our disposal today, we have decided to remain closed until April 30th. It is always tough to lead with decisions that impact our daily personal purpose. Going to work at a place we love brings us both social and financial reward. With that in mind we have decided to continue paying our employees during this shutdown period.
I am confident that we are making the best decision to protect our employees, their families and our customers. The collective well-being of our community far outweighs the commercial advantage we may gain by keeping our dealerships and jewelry operations open.
Our vehicle service and parts business will however remain open with limited Monday to Friday hours (8.30am-5.00pm). Since we believe service is classified as essential to supporting our healthcare providers, first responders and customers with emergency needs, it is important that we remain open to support our community in this time of need.
